Throughout my career, I have worked across NHS and private sectors, delivering evidence-based therapy in community settings, clinics, schools, family assessment units, and homes. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), complemented by a systemic and holistic perspective that addresses the broader influences on mental well-being.

I offer individual therapy, family therapy, parenting support, and systemic interventions, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs of my clients. Whether working with individuals, families, or multi-disciplinary teams, I focus on practical strategies that foster emotional well-being, self-awareness, and long-term resilience.

FAQ

HOW DO I KNOW IF YOU'RE THE RIGHT THERAPIST FOR ME?

Finding the right therapist for you is a personal journey. Only you can know what kind of therapeutic relationship and approach feels right for you. Would you prefer someone who mainly sits back, listens and acknowledges what you are saying, or a therapist who is engaged throughout, curious with you about what you are sharing, supportive and straightforward?

These are questions only you can answer. I work in an engaged, collaborative and transparent way. I will listen carefully, ask questions, share observations and be curious with you as we make sense of what is happening. The initial appointment gives you an opportunity to experience how I work and decide whether that feels right for you.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM WORKING WITH YOU?

From the outset, I am genuinely invested in the work we do together. I want to understand what has brought you to therapy, what you want to change and what achieving your goals would mean for you.

Therapy with me is active and collaborative, we are working towards your goals together. Connection is key to the way I work. I believe there is something powerful about building a strong professional relationship where you feel safe enough to trust me with your vulnerability and the things you may find difficult to share. I will listen, ask questions, share observations and, where helpful, gently challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck. I am transparent about the work we are doing and why, and we will regularly review your progress together.

An important part of our work is also helping you develop practical strategies and tools that you can continue to use beyond therapy. The aim is not only to help with what is happening in the here and now, but to support changes and skills that can have a lasting impact.

DO YOU ONLY USE CBT?

No. CBT is an important foundation of my work and is supported by a strong evidence base for a range of psychological difficulties. But I do not use one approach rigidly or expect you to fit a particular model. We start with an assessment so I can understand you, what you are experiencing and what you would like to change. I then tailor the work to your individual needs, drawing on my wider clinical experience and training where appropriate.

HOW LONG WILL I NEED THERAPY FOR?

There is no set length of therapy. As a guide, shorter-term work may be around six to twelve sessions, while some people may benefit from working together for several months. This will depend on what brings you to therapy, how long the difficulties have been present, their complexity and what you want to achieve. We will discuss this together from the outset and regularly review your progress as therapy develops.

DO YOU OFFER ONLINE AND FACE-TO-FACE SESSIONS?

Yes. I offer both online and face-to-face therapy. Research shows that therapist- guided online psychological therapy can be as effective as face-to-face therapy for many difficulties, so either option can provide meaningful therapeutic work. Online therapy can be particularly helpful

if you value the convenience and comfort of having your session from your own space, want to avoid travel, or need therapy to fit more easily around work, family or other commitments.

Face-to-face therapy may suit you if you prefer being in the same room with your therapist, find technology more difficult, or simply want a separate, private environment away from home in which to talk. This can also be important if home

does not feel like the easiest or most private place to discuss personal experiences. Whichever format you choose, you can expect the same level of engagement, attention and commitment from me.

IS WHAT I TALK ABOUT CONFIDENTIAL?

Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential. The main exception is if I have serious concerns about your safety or someone else's safety, including safeguarding concerns, or if I am legally required to share information. Wherever possible, I would discuss this with you first.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR REARRANGE A SESSION?

I understand that unexpected situations can arise. If you need to cancel or rearrange, please give as much notice as possible. I operate a 48-hour cancellation policy. Where there is a genuine emergency, please contact me and I will take the circumstances into account. The full cancellation terms will be explained when we begin working together.
